my lucas the illustrator. yesterday he was honored at the Griffin Artist and Illustrator night. i am truly amazed how talented these kids are and oh so proud of my own. lucas teamed up as an illustrator with his classmate chinedun who wrote the story.

well its january 6th and i need to make some lists. i think i am getting to the point where if i don't write things down, i forget....hmmmmm not so good. so here i go....first item on list is to blog and since food and cooking are always on my mind, i will start by helping all of those who want to try something new, don't have time, can't afford cooking classes and just want a little quick time video for reference. are you ready....

a lovely table

my cousin sent this photo from mexico of my aunt Rufinas "ofrenda" and it is beautiful. she is a fantastic cook and makes a killer mole de cacaguate (peanut mole). i love the wholesomeness of these dishes. the casuelas (terra cotta pots) look amazing. this table is very personal to me. it is for those i love.

hello again....i am here

i feel a bit disconnected from the blogging community. i have been a busy girl and have not had a chance to stop and post. today as i have a chance to sit and type, i began checking on my "favorites" and realize that one never knows what happens in the lives of those who "stop" blogging. "la cucina de viola" is a perfect example of this. i love this blog, but she has stopped posting since may? is she okay is my first thought, did she move to a spectacular villa in italy? did her laptop die and she has not had a chance to get something new? so this brings me to me! my last post was over month ago so for this i apologize. life gets busy and time flies and well lets face it....we get tired and just want to use any free time to sleep. anyway - i do have a new gig. i am "officially" cooking....yes! i was hired as a sous chef for a new wine bar bistro in glendora called the parlour http://www.theparlourwine.com i can't tell you how excited i am about this new venture. i just love it. i am learning so much and get to work with an amazing group of people. here is to me...chin chin - i am a happy girl.
